Austmine opens industry participation for 2027 Newcastle showcase
Mining and METS organisations are being invited to help shape Austmine’s 2027 Mining Innovation Showcase in Newcastle, with opportunities to present technologies, join industry discussions and contribute to a program focused on practical challenges facing mining operations.
Austmine has opened opportunities for the 8 April 2027 Mining Innovation Showcase event at Newcastle City Hall, offering participating organisations several ways to contribute directly to the program rather than simply attend.
The packages include keynote and technology presentations, panel participation and facilitated discussion sessions, with the event expected to attract more than 200 delegates from mining companies, the METS sector and the wider industry.
From technology trials to operational results
The 2027 program will focus on how proven technologies, services and other solutions are being adopted and scaled to address operational challenges.
Austmine says the mining industry is entering a phase where the value of technology is increasingly being judged by the results it delivers across productivity, safety, sustainability and commercial performance.
The proposed program reflects that focus, with sessions covering mine productivity, METS solutions, technology, energy and operational transformation, and Australia's mining innovation capability.
The event will use technology presentations, case studies and interactive sessions to examine mining challenges and where technology and industry collaboration could provide practical solutions.
Industry invited into the program
The sponsorship prospectus provides several avenues for Austmine members to participate directly in the event program.
The Platinum Partner package includes the opening 25-minute keynote, while Gold Partners receive a 20-minute presentation opportunity and Silver Partners can participate in an industry panel.
Interactive Discussion Partners can lead small-group discussions on industry challenges, opportunities and emerging solutions, with discussion topics subject to program approval.
Six Innovation Spotlight packages are also available, providing seven-minute presentations for organisations to present a technology, solution or capability. Those presentations will be professionally recorded and published through Austmine's YouTube channel.
Sponsorship packages range from $2,500 plus GST for a Bronze Partner to $10,500 plus GST for the exclusive Platinum Partner package.
Sponsorship is available exclusively to Austmine members, and Austmine retains responsibility for the final program and selection of speakers.
Newcastle event builds on 2026 turnout
The Showcase returns following the 2026 Newcastle event, where Austmine's attendance data showed 82 per cent of participants came from NSW.
Of the 2026 audience, 42 per cent were in executive and corporate leadership roles, while 31 per cent worked in commercial, sales and marketing positions. Technical, operations and project roles accounted for 21 per cent, with the remaining six per cent from research, government and industry.
For 2027, Austmine says the event will again bring miners and METS companies together to examine operational problems, share knowledge and identify technologies and services that can be applied across mining operations.
The program is currently proposed to include sessions on mine productivity, METS technologies, the future mine and technology, energy and operational transformation.
