Central West stakeholders invited to build the foundations of a circular economy precinct
A free, full-day workshop in Orange will bring councils, industry, business and community organisations together to test ideas, build connections and help inform the early planning for a future Central West Circular Economy Precinct, including a roadmap and economic analysis.
Regional Development Australia Central West will host a Central West Circular Economy Precinct Accelerator Workshop in Orange on Thursday 19 February 2026, bringing regional stakeholders together to explore how circular economy concepts could be applied in a Central West setting.
The workshop is supported by the Central NSW Joint Organisation and will be facilitated by Circular Australia, following earlier regional discussions held through the Circular Futures Forum.
Scheduled from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, the free event will focus on practical, hands-on activities rather than presentations alone, with participants invited to test ideas and consider how circular economy approaches could work across local industries and communities.
A working session, not a conference
The workshop is designed as an interactive working session, with participants actively involved in identifying opportunities for local activation and collaboration.
The session is intended to be participatory rather than observational. As Circular Australia Managing Director and CEO Lisa McLean puts it, "We need you and your organisation to be part of this working session to build networks, new supply chains and partnerships to drive circular economy opportunities in the NSW Central West.”
Activities on the day will explore what circular economy precincts are, how they operate, and how similar approaches could be adapted to a regional context such as the Central West.
Informing the next phase of precinct development
Insights gathered during the workshop will be used to help inform the early development of a future Central West Circular Economy Precinct Roadmap and Economic Analysis.
Participants will be asked to work through real examples and priorities, with their input feeding into the broader work underway to develop skills, strengthen partnerships and support circular industry growth across the region.
Who should attend and how to register
The workshop is open to business leaders, council staff, community organisations, industry representatives, researchers and others with an interest in circular economy solutions and regional innovation.
Attendance is free, with the event funded by RDA Central West as part of its ongoing work to support circular economy development in the Central West of NSW.
The workshop will be held in Orange, with the venue and detailed agenda to be shared closer to the date.
