Energy and resources priorities for $800m Australian large-scale manufacturers grants program

The Manufacturing Collaboration Stream provides funding for a small number of large, transformational projects. These projects should have business-to-business collaboration at their core, or business-to-research collaboration at their core.

Steel manufacturing

The Manufacturing Collaboration Stream is one stream of the Federal Government's Modern Manufacturing Initiative.

The initiative provides co-funding for a small number of large, transformational projects that will either directly feature collaboration or will create and facilitate collaborative ecosystems.

The funding will focus on Australia’s six National Manufacturing Priorities, with the relevant two being:

Eligible projects will receive funding for up to one-third of project costs. Grant sizes range between A$20 million and A$200 million. Applicants should show how their project aligns with the grant objectives. See the grant opportunity guidelines for more information [PDF, 0.74 MB].

The Manufacturing Collaboration Stream initiative is a key element of the Australian Government’s Modern Manufacturing Strategy.

Other streams include:

  • The Manufacturing Integration Stream helps Australian manufacturers to access domestic and global supply chains and produce and distribute quality products and high value services into them
  • The Manufacturing Translation Stream helps Australian manufacturers translate high quality research and ideas into commercial outcomes.

Companies must lodge their applications between 11 August and 9 September.
