Hunter businesses invited to map their role in the region’s energy supply chains
A new online capability directory backed by the NSW Government is inviting Hunter-based businesses working in energy-related supply chains to formally document their expertise, helping industry and government better understand the breadth of services, technology and research operating across the region.
New.E has launched the Hunter New Energy Capability Directory, a free online platform for Hunter-based businesses contributing to energy-related goods, services, technology, research and specialist expertise.
The directory has been developed with support from the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and is intended to provide a clear, practical picture of the capabilities that exist across the region’s energy value chains.
The directory is designed to make it easier for industry, government, investors and project partners to understand what is available in the Hunter and which organisations are delivering that capability.
Who the directory is for
The directory is open to Hunter-based or Hunter-headquartered businesses that are already delivering, or are working towards delivering, goods or specialist services to the energy sector. This includes companies and organisations involved in technology development, research, engineering, professional services and other specialist roles linked to energy projects.
The directory is not intended for broader retail businesses, but for organisations contributing directly to energy-related value chains in the region and beyond.
To be eligible to create a listing, businesses must also be members of the New.E community. Membership is free and can be completed online before submitting a directory profile.
Why New.E is encouraging listings
The directory is intended to support better connections across the region’s energy ecosystem and contribute to a shared understanding of Hunter capability.
Each listing also contributes to a broader regional picture of capability, helping external stakeholders identify potential suppliers, partners and expertise within the Hunter’s energy economy.
As interest grows nationally and internationally, the directory will become a key tool for helping industry, government, investors and project partners understand the capability that exists in our region – and the organisations driving it.
How businesses can join
Businesses interested in being listed are required to complete two steps. First, they must join the New.E community using the organisation’s online membership form. Once membership is confirmed, businesses can complete the Capability Directory listing form to create their profile.
