Hunter New Energy Symposium returns with broader program under Hunter Energy Week
Now in its fourth year, the Hunter New Energy Symposium has established itself as a cornerstone event for the region – bringing together leaders, innovators and decision-makers to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the energy transition. In 2026, that conversation evolves.
Hunter New Energy Week builds on the Symposium’s strong foundation, expanding its reach to reflect the scale, complexity and significance of energy transformation in the Hunter. The week will feature a curated program of events, forums and experiences designed to connect people across energy, industry, skills, innovation and community – creating more opportunities to engage, collaborate and contribute to the region’s new energy future.
The Hunter New Energy Symposium remains the centrepiece of the week, delivering high-level insights, strategic discussion and practical perspectives on the transition to a net zero future.
Across two days, the Symposium will bring together:
- Industry leaders and project proponents
- Government and policy makers
- Researchers and innovators
- Investors, supply chain partners and regional stakeholders.
Networking Event: Wednesday 27 May (evening) – Tower Cinemas Newcastle and will feature a screening of Planet Sun – UNTIL SOLD OUT

Industry Dinner: Thursday 28 May (evening), Newcastle City Hall.
