NSW Net Zero innovators offered pathway into UK market

Investment NSW is inviting applications for a new export program that will connect local clean-energy businesses with the United Kingdom’s growing Net Zero sector through training, market visits, and direct introductions to potential partners.

Applications are now open for the Going Global Export Program: Net Zero & Energy Transition to the United Kingdom, a new initiative from Investment NSW supporting small and medium-sized businesses with Net Zero solutions ready for export.

The program runs from March to May 2026, offering NSW companies a mix of targeted training, market preparation, and in-person activities in the UK. Businesses will take part in a six- to eight-week learning program covering how to do business in the UK energy market before joining a trade mission in May.

The mission includes business meetings and site visits in London, Glasgow, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Cardiff, as well as attendance at the All Energy Glasgow Exhibition and Conference, the UK’s largest renewable and low-carbon energy event.

The program is designed for NSW-based companies with products or services that contribute to Net Zero outcomes—such as renewable energy systems, hydrogen production, energy storage, smart grids, or digital solutions across the energy supply chain.

Eligible businesses must be small to medium-sized enterprises with between three and 199 employees, hold an ABN registered in NSW, and demonstrate both export potential and readiness to engage with the UK market. Each selected business must send a company representative to attend the UK activities in person.

The Northeast of England and Wales are expected to offer strong prospects for NSW exporters. Both regions are growing rapidly through major clean-energy projects including offshore wind, carbon capture and storage, and large-scale hydrogen production. The UK Government’s clean-energy policies are also creating demand for international expertise, giving NSW businesses opportunities to form commercial partnerships and access research and pilot projects.

An online information session will be held on 17 December 2025 at 5:30 pm AEDT, featuring program advisers from both NSW and the UK who will explain the application process and answer questions.

Applications are open now, until 15 February 2026 at 11:59 pm (Sydney time).

Interested businesses can find more information and apply through the NSW Government website here.
