Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now open for the $70 million hydrogen hub initiative. These grants support the development of hydrogen hubs in NSW, with a focus on the Hunter and Illawarra regions.

Developing hydrogen hubs is a key action under the recently released NSW Hydrogen Strategy. This will help build a thriving hydrogen ecosystem in NSW.

The initiative has two streams you can get involved in:

1. Projects – The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) are seeking EOIs for grant funding for commercial scale green hydrogen projects. EOIs for projects close on 28 January 2022 at 5.00pm AEDT.
Apply online here

2. Hydrogen consumers – The DPIE are seeking registrations of interest to identify hydrogen consumers, potential sources of demand across NSW, and within hub regions, to drive scale.

The DPIE will host a webinar on Thursday, 18 November 2021, from 1.00pm to 2.30pm to give an overview of the Hydrogen Strategy, hydrogen hub initiative guidelines and how to apply. They can also answer any questions you may have. You can register to attend the webinar here.

If you have any questions or need assistance to apply, email the hydrogen team at hydrogen@planning.nsw.gov.au.
