2026 Hunter New Energy Symposium

The Hunter New Energy Symposium brings together leaders from industry, government, research, finance and innovation to accelerate the region’s transition to a new energy future.

May 26 sympo

In 2026, the Symposium is the cornerstone event of New Energy Week and is designed as a single, high-impact day on Thursday 28 May, shaped by delegate and sponsor feedback. Instead of concurrent breakout streams, all content will be delivered in the main plenary, ensuring every participant experiences the full program without missing key conversations.

The Symposium is complemented by Networking Drinks on the evening of Wednesday 27 May and the Industry Dinner on Thursday evening, both of which provide consistently high-value opportunities for delegates, sponsors and speakers to connect beyond the formal program. These high-quality networking events have received excellent feedback in previous years and will form an integral part of the 2026 experience.

As part of Hunter New Energy Week, a range of additional activities will take place across the same period, including industry tours hosted by HunterNet, and in-development events such as an Industry Cluster Roundtable and a Next Generation Forum. These sessions will allow delegates to explore specialised topics, deepen collaborations and engage further with the region’s emerging opportunities. More details on these opportunities will be provided in due course.

At the conclusion of the Symposium attendees will have:

• Gained a comprehensive understanding of the major trends, technologies and opportunities shaping the Hunter’s new energy landscape
• Engaged directly with experts through interactive panels and extended audience Q&A sessions
• Connected with the region’s most significant projects, investors and innovators - supported by premium networking experiences
• Developed insight into the infrastructure, policy and capability levers influencing the Hunter’s competitiveness and transition pathway.
