AMEC National EPBC Reform Forum (Hybrid Event)
On Tuesday 17 November, come to AMEC’s National Hybrid EPBC Reform Forum to understand the key changes and what they could mean for your organisation.
AMEC is bringing together government, industry and technical voices to unpack the reform architecture, the assumptions behind the proposed model, and the practical issues members should be watching for before rollout.
Hear from the heads of the newly established National Environmental Protection Agency and the National Environment Information Australia on how they intend to approach these new roles, along with the Secretary of the EPBC implementing agency at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
With EPBC reforms due to take effect on 1 December 2026, important questions arise for mineral exploration, project development and operations that industry needs answers to.
The forum will explore:
– what has changed in the federal EPBC reform architecture
– how the reforms could work in practice for proponents
– what members may need to prepare before 1 December
– what transition may mean for projects already before DCCEEW
– how state and territory systems may interface with the new federal model
– where choke points, transition risks and unresolved questions may remain
Exclusive to online attendees: Are You Ready? EPBC Case Studies
During morning tea break, online attendees can join a practical session exploring a transitional application and a new application under the reformed framework.
