Austmine Webinar: Opportunities for Australian Businesses in the Lithium Triangle
Join Austmine for a webinar to explore opportunities in the Lithium Triangle, the lithium-enriched Andean salars of Chile, Argentina and Bolivia on Friday 6 December, 11am - 12pm AEDT.
The webinar will launch a new report, Opportunities for Australian Businesses in the Lithium Triangle, which was commissioned by the Council on Australia Latin America Relations (COALAR), part of the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade. Austmine is pleased to partner with COALAR to host this webinar and provide the report to our members and other key stakeholders.
The Lithium Triangle study provides insights into:
- Current supply chains
- Exploration and project development
- Production methods
- Profiles of major operators
- Opportunities for Australian METS
During the webinar Dr Nicholas Lindsay, author of the study and lithium expert, will provide an overview of the key findings of the study. He will then be joined by a panel of experts to discuss doing business in the region, lessons learnt from Australian METS and how to leverage current lithium opportunities.

Dr Nicholas Lindsay
Dr Nicolas Lindsay is a geologist and highly qualified mining industry executive and consultant with 40 years' experience. He has served as a Director of several ASX-listed mineral resource companies, most recently Lake Resources (ASX:LKE) and Manuka Resources (ASX:MKR). As Lake Resources' Technical Director, he was instrumental in the exploration and development of Lake's core asset, the Kachi Lithium-Brine Project in northwestern Argentina. He also belongs to the Institute of Geoscientists (MAIG).
Ambassador Simon Twisk, Australia Ambassador to Argentina
Dr Twisk is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and was most recently Assistant Secretary, Free Trade Agreement Goods Branch. He has previously served overseas in Belgium, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and at Australia’s Permanent Mission to the World Trade Organization in Geneva. Dr Twisk holds a PhD from the University of Tasmania and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Adelaide.
Dr Robert Trzebski, Director International Business at Austmine and non-executive Director at Lake Resources
Dr Trzebski is an international mining executive bringing substantial operational, commercial and technical experience in global mining markets to Austmine and Lake Resources. He has over 35 years’ leadership in mineral exploration, strategic advisory, project management and technology innovation. In previous roles, he held executive positions with key mining industry players, such as Rio Tinto, WMC, Inco, Falconbridge, Schlumberger and Phelps Dodge, having worked across the globe with a long professional track record in Argentina. He holds a degree in Geology, PhD in Geophysics, Masters in Project Management and is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
