Global demand for rare earth elements is accelerating to support priority technologies, supply chain diversification, national security and the energy transition. Australia has a significant opportunity to become a preferred global supplier by understanding where new discoveries are most likely, which known resources offer the strongest development opportunities, and where additional supply could be unlocked through re-mining and by-product potential.
Australia's Mineral Opportunities Series: Rare Earth Elements Assessment is the first of 36 national mineral assessments to be delivered through Resourcing Australia’s Prosperity. In a world-first approach to mineral assessment, it will provide a trusted and integrated understanding of Australia’s rare earth supply opportunities by bringing together geological, technical, economic and supply chain insights in an accessible format.
The assessment will be delivered via an innovative digital publication that helps users more readily access and engage with information relevant to their specific needs. It is designed to translate technical evidence into clear narratives that support decisions about exploration, investment, policy, land-use and resource development.
