Battery Breakthrough Initiative - Launch Webinar 1

The $500 million Battery Breakthrough Initiative (BBI) has been announced, a Budget measure announced by the Australian Government in May 2024 and a central part of the National Battery Strategy also released in May.

BBI aims to enhance Australia’s battery manufacturing capability and commercialise battery manufacturing processes and technologies. BBI is a $500 million funding program to support and grow battery manufacturing in Australia.

ARENA will deliver the program and has designed the guidelines in consultation with the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) following consultation with industry and other stakeholders.

About the webinar

• Key topics to be discussed include a program overview, program design features and timelines for application.
• The presentation content for both webinars will be the same, since the Q&A portion of the webinars will be live, the topics covered might differ between the sessions.

• Recordings of the webinars and slides will be made available on the Battery Breakthrough webpage after both webinars have taken place. ARENA may also publish an FAQ document after the webinars based on questions received.
