Penny Woodward, Surface Infrastructure Manager at Malabar Resources’ Maxwell Operations, will open the event with a keynote reflecting on her nearly two decades in the coal industry, her leadership journey and the lessons she has learned along the way. Recognised this year as the NSW Exceptional Woman in Mining, Penny has built her career leading complex operational improvements while developing people and high-performing teams.

She will then be joined by Aleisha Saxby, Process and Logistics Superintendent at Ulan Surface Operation and this year’s NSW Exceptional Young Woman in Mining, for a conversation facilitated by journalist, emcee and The Coalface Magazine Deputy Editor Jessica Rouse.

Together, they will explore the realities of building a career in resources, the leadership lessons gained along the way, the opportunities and challenges facing the industry, and what is needed to continue attracting and developing the next generation of talent.
