Business Hunter Infrastructure Lunch | Industry, Innovation and the Hunter’s Next Phase with thanks to GHD
Join Business Hunter for our May Infrastructure Lunch, featuring The Hon. Tim Ayres, Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science, for a timely discussion on the Hunter’s role in Australia’s industrial and economic future.
Following on from the May 12 Federal Budget, this session will explore how national priorities in industry, innovation and science are shaping investment, infrastructure delivery and long-term growth opportunities for the Hunter.
Minister Ayres will share his perspective on the Government’s approach to building Australia’s future industries. This includes the role of his portfolio in driving investment and delivery through initiatives such as the $15 billion National Reconstruction Fund.
The Fund is supporting the development of enabling capabilities, advanced manufacturing capability and nationally significant projects. With a strong focus on industry, science and workforce capability, the discussion will explore how these priorities are translating into tangible investment and infrastructure outcomes for regional economies like the Hunter.
Key themes will include:
- National industry and innovation priorities following the Federal Budget
- Implications for the Hunter’s infrastructure pipeline and investment landscape
- Strengthening regional capability, skills and workforce development
- Positioning the Hunter within the Future Made in Australia agenda
This is an important opportunity for business leaders, industry stakeholders and policymakers to hear directly from the Minister on the direction of national policy — and how it connects to regional growth and infrastructure priorities.
