The NESP Climate systems hub invite you to join Australia’s next national adaptation conference to be held in Newcastle, NSW from 26-28 October 2026. The conference is Australia’s preeminent event focused exclusively on climate change adaptation.

Climate Adaption 2026 is an opportunity to share knowledge and experience, to network and strengthen the growing community of adaptation practice and research in Australia.

The program across three days includes plenary sessions focused on key voices, panel sessions and workshops addressing specific challenges and thematic sessions of delegate presentations.

Australian’s have increasing ‘lived experience’ of a changing climate. It tests our economy, our communities, business, policy, social norms, and our natural environment. But we are building the knowledge and data that can help us respond better. Along with a growing body of examples and innovation in adaptation policy, planning and on-ground action, the adaptation community is empowering change in how we live well under climate change.

The National Climate Adaptation conference series is designed to foster a strong network of adaptation practice. We know that investing in people and connection sustains good adaptation.
