Climate Change and Sea Level Rise
The Warren Centre Humanitarian Engineering Hub invites you to the upcoming Climate Change and Sea Level Rise webinar on Thursday 23 July.
Existential threats in the form of accelerating sea level rise, warming and acidification are impacting Pacific Island countries, whose people, communities and governments face ever growing challenges to their way of life. From impacts on land availability, changing disaster vulnerabilities, food and water sourcing, and loss of coastal infrastructure, difficult questions are actively being debated as to whether it is better to prepare for staying or going, and what this may mean for the vibrant, inspiringly strong cultures tying Pacific communities together.
Together, the Panel will provide a multi-dimensional understanding of local, humanitarian, engineering and scientific levels of climate change and sea level rise impacts in the Pacific, all of which must be considered, to effectively preserve and prepare for what's to come.
