The road to commercialisation for physical products is littered with potholes, crests, dips and burnt out husks. Joss will present a warts and all look at his company’s ongoing journey to bring a small wind turbine to market, with a particular focus on the technical aspects.

Speaker: Dr Joss Kesby, Managing Director, Diffuse Energy

Joss' background is in Civil Engineering and Surveying but he managed to convince a professor at the University of Newcastle to give him a scholarship to undertake a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, with his research centring on optimising small wind turbines. Joss received his Doctorate earlier this year and has started a company, Diffuse Energy, to commercialise his research. He and his team have undertaken CSIRO’s ON Prime and ON Accelerate commercialisation programs through which Joss received a scholarship to attend the prestigious Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is also currently working as an academic and lecturer at the University of Newcastle.
