The Community EV Open Day is a free event designed to help Lake Macquarie residents better understand electric vehicles and sustainable transport options in a clear, practical way.

With electric vehicles becoming more common on Australian roads – including over 100,000 EVs sold nationally in 2025 – many households are starting to consider whether driving electric could work for them. This event brings together trusted information, real‑world experiences and emerging technology to help residents make informed choices.

Why Council is hosting this event

This event is part of Lake Macquarie City Council’s broader work to support sustainable transport choices in Lake Macquarie.

With around 60 million EVs on roads worldwide and millions more produced each year, transport technology is evolving. Council is hosting this event to make information clear, accessible and easy to find, helping residents understand the transition to driving electric.
