Councils and communities benefitting from renewable energy projects
This webinar is a collaboration of Climate Emergency Australia and the Renewable Energy Alliance.
We'll hear from Thomasen Knight about the Renewable Energy Alliance's regional leaders network, a facilitated peer learning and connection network for rural and regional leaders experiencing large-scale renewable energy development in their region. We'll also hear directly from two councils who are stepping up and helping their communities to create lasting and meaningful outcomes in their region.
Craig Watts, CEO of the Shire of Merredin will tell us about the experience of an innovative council in WA’s wheat-belt, which has become a hub for solar and battery projects. Cr David Meacheam will also share with us about the journey of Central Highlands Council in Tasmania, where a local solar farm is underway and a wind project is in the planning stage.
