Emerging Technology Commercialisation Fund (ETCF) Information Session (Online)

The NSW Government has launched the Emerging Technology Commercialisation Fund (ETCF): a competitive program to help NSW startups and businesses turn world‑class research into market‑ready products, services and systems that create high‑value jobs and strengthen NSW’s global competitiveness.

April chief scientist

The OCSE Grant Delivery Team is conducting an Information Session at 11am on 2 April 2026 to discuss the ETCF program and the application process and answer any questions applicants may have.

What the ETCF is for

ETCF targets a common gap in the innovation pipeline — where technologies have early evidence, but need support to mature into investable, scalable solutions. Grants help de‑risk development and accelerate commercialisation outcomes and are repayable once the recipient achieves profitability.

The ETCF is designed to:

1. Progress emerging technology innovations to commercial deployment.

2. Improve commercial viability and investment readiness.

3. Generate long-term economic benefits for NSW (including jobs and growth in priority areas).

Who should apply

ETCF is open to NSW‑based startups and businesses with innovative devices, technologies or products within Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 3–7, supporting them to move along the TRL scale and commercialise their idea.

Funding available

Up to $7 million per round, with grants from $500,000 to $2 million (excluding GST) through a competitive process.

Key date

Applications close at 10am on 29 April 2026.
