Energy and Resource Lunch | From roadmap to reality with NSW Minister for Climate Change and Energy Penny Sharpe
Business Hunter is pleased to welcome NSW Minister for Climate Change and Energy Penny Sharpe to the region for an Energy and Resources Lunch examining progress on the NSW renewable energy pipeline and emerging opportunities for the Hunter.
NSW’s energy landscape is changing rapidly. Over the past 12 months there has been a major shift from planning and policy design into large-scale delivery of Renewable Energy Zones (REZs), transmission infrastructure and storage projects under the Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.
NSW now has enough projects signed up to achieve more than 75 per cent of the minimum 12 gigawatts of renewable energy generation required by 2030, and has contracted enough projects to meet the 2030 and 2034 minimum objectives for long-duration storage.
What are the next milestones and where do the next opportunities for business and industry lie?
The event will explore:
What has changed: Progress on the Roadmap and where major energy initiatives, projects and policy commitments now stand.
What businesses are waiting on: The decisions, infrastructure and policy settings that continue to influence investment and business confidence.
What comes next: Key developments and priorities to watch over the next 12 to 24 months.
What it means for the Hunter: How the region’s industries, businesses and supply chains fit into NSW’s evolving energy system.
What business needs to know: The implications for energy users, investors and businesses looking to participate in the infrastructure and investment ahead.
This event will provide Hunter businesses with a unique opportunity to hear directly from the Minister charged with overseeing delivery of the state’s energy transition.
