From Roof to Road: Solar, Battery + EV - All Electric Home workshop
Join Renew experts for a practical discussion on all-electric homes, from solar to batteries and electric vehicles. Find out how these can all work together to lower bills and boost energy independence.
This workshop will cover a host of topics such as how to get the beset solar products, how to charge your EV at home, and scale your battery to your needs.
Experts include:
Travis Gribbon - Travis is one of Australia’s leading voices in whole-home electrification and residential battery adoption. As Head of Electrification at ZECO Energy, he leads a team dedicated to designing and delivering complete solutions that integrate batteries with solar PV, hot water, heating and cooling, and electric cooking—helping households cut bills and disconnect from gas. With over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, Travis has been at the forefront of policy, product development, and community-scale projects that highlight the financial, environmental, and grid-stability benefits of battery storage. He works closely with government, councils, and technology partners to ensure batteries deliver maximum value for homeowners while enabling the broader shift to an all-electric future.
Matthew Wright is a Melbourne-based renewable energy engineer, entrepreneur and climate advocate with over two decades’ experience advancing Australia’s shift to a zero-emissions economy. He is the lead author of the award-winning Zero Carbon Australia Stationary Energy Plan and former founder and Executive Director of Beyond Zero Emissions, where he led development of one of the world’s first economy-wide roadmaps to 100% renewable energy. Matthew holds a Master of Engineering in Sustainable Energy from RMIT and has built a career bridging technical analysis with real-world implementation, from early climate campaigning to co-founding Pure Electric to deliver solar, batteries, EV charging and home electrification. He is also a regular commentator on energy policy, grid integration and the economics of the clean energy transition.
Tim Eden - Tim spent most of his career so far as a network engineer and site reliability engineer, helping to keep Google systems up and running for 14 years among other things. He got hooked on electric vehicles during a work trip to the US in 2014, where he saw a glimpse of the future while driving a Tesla Model S. After leaving Google a few years ago, Tim has worked for Polestar Australia and now writes for the EV focused The Driven website where he enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with others.
Renew wants to provide opportunities for attendees to ask questions and learn from each other. The workshop format will include an introductory presentation, and then breakout rooms with experts who can personally answer your questions.
