Future Made in Newcastle Forum

Future Made in Newcastle is a forum series that brings together community members, industry leaders, businesses and experts to explore the opportunities shaping Newcastle’s future. It is a space for open conversation, fresh ideas and practical discussion about how our city and region can grow, innovate and thrive in a changing economy.

The first Future Made in Newcastle forum will explore one of the most transformative infrastructure opportunities for our region — High Speed Rail.

This event will discuss what faster connections between Newcastle, Sydney and the broader east coast could mean for our city’s future — from jobs and investment to housing, mobility and regional growth.

The keynote address will be delivered by Graham Nelmes, General Manager Customer, Place and Operations at the High Speed Rail Authority. Graham will share insights into the planning and development of High Speed Rail and the opportunities it presents for Newcastle.

Following the keynote, Graham will be joined by a panel of experts for a Q&A discussion, giving attendees the chance to dig into the details, ask questions and explore what High Speed Rail could mean in practice for Newcastle and the Hunter.

After the Q&A, community organisations will host stalls in the foyer. Feel free to grab a drink and connect with local groups contributing to a Future Made in Newcastle.

By connecting people across sectors and encouraging thoughtful discussion, this forum series aims to support collaboration and help ensure Newcastle is well positioned to lead in the industries and opportunities of tomorrow.
