What is the energy transition simulation?

GHD’s energy transition simulation is a facilitated role-playing exercise that puts you in the shoes of different stakeholders in the energy system. You will have to make strategic decisions, negotiate with other players, and adapt to changing scenarios as you experience the dynamics of the energy transition.

The game play session is designed for professionals and leaders who want to gain insights and perspectives on the energy sector and its future. It is also a great opportunity to connect and collaborate with other participants who share your interest and passion for energy transition.

The session will be facilitated by experts from the GHD team, who will guide you through the game and provide feedback and debriefing to consolidate learning and insights.

What to gain?

  • A wider view of the energy ecosystem and a better understanding of how current challenges and trends are affecting it, including learning how the system could evolve over time.
  • Awareness of hidden cultural and organisational values and biases and the an opportunity to experiment with new approaches without these constraints.
  • An understanding of the need for multi-stakeholder collaboration as well as its challenges
  • Experience of the sector from the perspectives of your organisation’s key stakeholders, to develop empathy and understanding for their position within the sector.
  • An appreciation of the tension between short-term and long-term priorities and initial headway in forming of solutions to achieve a better balance between these two trade-offs.

There is a limited capacity for this session, so don’t miss out on this exciting event! Please register now and secure your spot by 22 May 2024 advising your dietary requirements if any.
