Dominic Trindade
Austrade General Manager - Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan
Dominic is based in the Australian Embassy in Beijing. He leads a team of more than 80 staff across 7 offices in the greater China region. He speaks Chinese. Dominic joined Austrade in 2024 as General Manager, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This follows 32 years as a diplomat, lawyer and trade negotiator with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
John Madew
Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Shanghai
John commenced his posting as Deputy Consul-General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in Shanghai in August 2024. He leads a team of professionals to promote trade and investment links between Australia and East China region. John has held a number of other senior executive roles at Austrade including General Manager of Digital Services, Head of Digital Trade Services Strategy, and Head of Technology and Health Client Services.
Liu Bing
Deputy Consul-General (Commercial) and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Hong Kong and Macau
Liu Bing has been the Deputy Consul-General (Commercial) and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner at the Australian Consulate-General in Hong Kong and Macau since August 2024. She has had a distinguished career with Austrade, commencing her journey in 2001. She brings a wealth of experience in trade and investment, particularly within the China market.
Before her current role, she served as the Deputy Consul-General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in Shanghai. She led the Austrade East China network, facilitating business opportunities for Australian businesses in trade, education, and investment.
Christopher Lim
Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Taipei
Christopher Lim is Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner and Deputy Representative at the Australian Office in Taipei.
He is a senior career Australian public servant who has led high-performing international teams to deliver major commercial, diplomatic and strategic outcomes. Christopher was the Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner to the Philippines from 2021 to 2024, and the Consul-General in Chengdu, southwest China, from 2017 to 2020. He had earlier postings in Beijing, Washington, and Singapore.
Martin Ferreyra
Trade and Investment Commissioner, South China
Martin is Austrade’s Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for South China. He is also Austrade's Greater China Agribusiness Industry Lead. Martin's experience includes being Trade and Investment Commissioner for Africa, Austrade’s State Director for Northern Territory, and senior trade advisory roles in Australia, Mexico, and Peru.
Daniela Assis
Trade and Investment Commissioner, Beijing
Daniela Assis commenced her posting as Trade and Investment Commissioner Beijing in December 2023. She is responsible for Austrade’s business development initiatives in infrastructure, services, resources and energy in Greater China.
Prior to this she was Trade and Investment Commissioner in Shanghai from January 2021 to December 2023 and in Seoul (acting) from 2018 to 2020, leading Austrade’s initiatives across a range of sectors, including energy (hydrogen and smart cities), education, health and technology.
Colin Tang
Senior Business Development Manager, Beijing
Colin is currently the Senior Business Development Manager based in Beijing. Having worked as a Business Development Manager at Austrade for 27 years, across multiple regions in China, including Shanghai, Hangzhou and Beijing, Colin has deep regional knowledge and a track record in supporting Australian companies to expand to China.
