Net Zero Australia Report launch: Decarbonising Heavy Industry
Join the webinar to see Net Zero Australia (NZAu) Project unveil its latest findings on potential pathways to decarbonise Australia’s heavy industry sector.
Net Zero Australia's Decarbonising Heavy Industry Report presents updated modelling to assess potential pathways for Australian industrial sectors to reach net zero emissions, including:
potential roles of electrification, fuel switching, CO2 capture and CO2 removals;
how natural gas prices, biomass availability, shared infrastructure and energy security imperatives could shape Australia’s decarbonisation pathways; and
the impact of these options on the costs of industrial decarbonisation.
The seminar will conclude with a panel discussion and Q&A with the audience, featuring speakers:
Simon Smart, Associate Professor, School of Chemical Engineering, University of Queensland
Kathryn Mumford, Professor and Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Melbourne
The seminar will be moderated by Professor Belinda Wade of the University of Queensland Business School.
