NSW - Australia Hydrogen Day 2026

On Thursday 8 October 2026, the NSW HSA Chapter will host its first annual Australia Hydrogen Day.

Oct hydrogen day

This national event recognises hydrogen’s growing role in the energy transition, aligning with its atomic weight (1.008) as a symbol of our commitment to a sustainable future.

This event shines a spotlight on hydrogen’s critical role in Australia’s clean energy future, bringing together industry leaders, academics, policymakers, students, and the public for a day of presentations, panel discussions, and networking. More than just a conference, AHD2026 is designed as an inclusive platform to share accessible hydrogen knowledge, highlight the latest developments in the sector, and build vital connections across communities.

In 2025, we delivered excellent in-person events delivered by our HSA State Chapters in WA, SA, VIC, and QLD.  In 2026, we plan to deliver this important celebratory event in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, and New South Wales. Each chapter will host its own program and event, with the option for participants to join presentations remotely. This will enable interstate connection and engagement across Australia and beyond.

NSW Chapter Event Description

The NSW Chapter’s Australia Hydrogen Day 2026 will bring together industry, government, academia and the broader energy community to explore the practical role of hydrogen and renewable fuels in Australia’s energy transition, industrial decarbonisation and future energy security. The program will feature speakers from across the sector sharing perspectives on emerging technologies, projects, policy, commercialisation and the challenges of scaling hydrogen in Australia.

The event will also mark an important relaunch of the HSA NSW Chapter’s face-to-face activities, providing a forum for the NSW hydrogen community to reconnect, exchange ideas and build new relationships. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with sector leaders, researchers, project developers and emerging professionals, while contributing to the discussion on the next phase of hydrogen development in New South Wales.
