Australia’s freight future is changing — and it’s happening on the Hume Highway.

Regional Futures: In Focus – Electrification of the Hume Highway is a practical one-day event bringing together industry leaders, infrastructure providers, logistics operators and government to explore the future of electric freight along one of Australia’s most important supply chain corridors.

Connecting Melbourne and Sydney, the Hume Highway is a critical freight route linking ports, manufacturing, agribusiness and distribution networks across the eastern seaboard. Major investment is already underway through projects such as NewVolt’s Melbourne-to-Sydney charging corridor and Toll Group’s TruckVolt initiative.

The program includes:

Keynote address by transport electrification expert Mark Gjerek (MOV3MENT)

Global insights from NewVolt and the Drive to Zero initiative

Discussions on charging infrastructure, grid readiness and corridor development

Real-world freight and manufacturing case studies

Myth-busting conversations on electric truck capability, including range, payload and terrain

Live electric truck displays and demonstrations

An optional visit to the Wodonga TAFE Heavy Vehicle Technology Precinct will provide attendees with the opportunity to experience electric heavy vehicles on the driver training track.

If you work in freight, logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, government or regional development, this event will provide valuable insights into one of the biggest transformations underway in Australian transport and supply chains.
