Responsible BESS Development Summit 2026
The Summit is focused on empowering partnerships between developers, landowners, communities and regulatory authorities.
As the global transition to renewable energy accelerates, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) have become essential for enhancing grid reliability and managing intermittent energy resources. Yet the rapid expansion of the BESS sector also brings significant responsibilities related to safety, sustainability, and local community acceptance.
The Responsible Battery Energy Storage Development Summit returns in 2026 for its second edition in Sydney on 8 May, and will expand nationally with a new Melbourne edition on 27 October. Each one-day event brings together industry experts, community leaders, developers, asset owners, regulators, battery manufacturers, construction EPCs, grid operators, and more to address the sector’s most pressing challenges.
Across both cities, the summit will explore best practices for developing BESS projects that prioritise safety and responsible impact management, while showcasing the latest technologies and strategies for mitigating noise, fire risk, and other community concerns.
Building on the success of the inaugural Sydney event, the 2026 series offers industry professionals the ideal platform to gain practical insights, engage in meaningful discussions, and connect with peers. With expanded national reach, the summit continues to champion safer, more sustainable, and more community-aligned BESS development across Australia.
