The training sessions will include a presentation from a representative from Safe Work NSW and by Geoff Bragg, one of Australia’s leading solar and battery storage trainers.

Participants can expect the following session times and learning outcomes:

• 3.00pm: Welcome and Introductions
• 3.10pm: Working at Heights rules and regulations – Safe Work NSW
• 3.40pm: Q&A with SafeWork NSW
• 3:55pm: Temporary Edge Protection: an Installer’s Perspective
• 4:05pm: Q&A with SafeWork NSW and Geoff Bragg
• 4:10pm: 3 video presentations – NSW Energysaver
• 4:15pm – 4:30pm: Short break
• 4:30pm – 5:00pm: 2 partner presentations
• 5:00pm – 5:15pm: Update on Standards: Geoff Bragg (AS/NZS 5033 2021)
• 5:15pm – 5:30pm: Open discussion/questions
• 5:30pm – 7:00pm: Drinks and Dinner

We would expect the following Learning Outcomes from the Working at Heights training:

• Knowledge: Participants will recognise and understand that SafeWork NSW has published a new “Guide To Safe Solar Panel Installation”, which makes clear the hierarchy of control, effectively mandating the use of Fall Prevention Devices such as scaffold, temporary edge protection or elevating work platforms on most sites, unless it can be shown to be unsafe, or not “Reasonably Practicable”. Learners will gain an understanding of Safe Work Australia’s guide on what is “Reasonably Practicable” to meet a Work Health and Safety Duty.
• Comprehension: Participants will be able to identify, describe and explain solar installation situations that require the use of temporary edge protection to create a safe working environment.
• Analysis: Participants will be able to compare different applications of edge protection in combination with a Work Positioning System such as a total restraint harness system.
• Create: Participants will be empowered to develop site-specific safe work methods and document these revised procedures in all ongoing Safe Work Method Statements.

The training session will be followed by networking drinks and a sit down, casual dinner.
