Steber International - E Motion - hybrid power system site visit

Ampcontrol in conjunction with Steber International and the University of Newcastle has developed a 43’ 600kW plug-in hybrid boat.

Overview

The work intends to help advance the decarbonisation efforts within the maritime sector by providing a solution that significantly reduces its environmental footprint without compromising on its operational range or capability. The hybrid diesel-electric boat is suitable for applications across defence, government and private sectors.

  • topological advantages and disadvantages of Series versus Parallel Hybrids
  • return on investment considerations associated with a hybrid vessel
