Sydney Mining Club - Leading Edge Showcase Series 2026
Presenting four great precious metals stories from Victoria, NSW and Queensland
SPEAKERS:
- We’ll hear from James Gurry, Managing Director of Aureka Limited (ASX:AKA) as it accelerates to development of its advanced gold exploration projects in Australia’s first home of gold – Victoria. Located in the gold-rich, historic Stawell Corridor, St Arnaud and Jubilee districts, projects include the Irvine Project hosting an inferred Mineral Resource of 304koz @ 2.43g/t and an Exploration Target of 280-420koz @ 2-3g/t on the flanks of a basalt dome just 20km from the privately-owned and operated Stawell Gold Mine (~five million ounces). In recent months, AKA has been drilling both the Irvine and St Arnaud projects actively, entering two partnerships which support land acquisition and shorten the potential pathway to mining and processing ore from Comstock (St Arnaud). With gold at 200 bucks a gram Aussie – why not!
- High-grade silver in the NSW New England fold belt, and gallium and germanium in British Columbia, has Rapid Critical Minerals Limited (ASX:RCM) bouncing in the market. Managing Director Byron Miles will bring us news of the progress at Northern NSW’s historic Webbs, Conrads and Webbs Consol mine drill outs which have given RCM a combined ~67Moz Ag Eq JORC Australian Mineral Resource. In Canada’s British Columbia, RCM is pursuing high-grade zinc, gallium and germanium at Prophet River Project covering 2,110 hectares.
- Copper, gold and Queensland – what a great combination. From a ‘hub’ midway between Rockhampton and Yeppoon QMines MD Andrew Sparke is on a mission to be Australia’s next copper mine. The Company is building from its flagship historic Mount Chalmers pit and has announced seven consecutive resource upgrades and is heading for 2029 production. Its battle plan for resource acquisitions has a 100km haulage range and plans for satellite operations are firming, drill rigs are spinning and the $35m market cap of this dynamically-managed emerging Queensland producer is building.
- Then it’s back to Chillagoe FNQ where Tartana Minerals (ASX:TAT) is producing copper at the Tartana mine site using the restarted Mungana mill, and is exploring this rich district for copper, zinc, gold, silver and critical minerals. TAT also operates the Zeehan Zinc mining lease in western Tasmania, shipping zinc-rich slag and matte to Korea for smelting. Managing Director Dr Stephen Bartrop will update us on process and plant upgrades at the Tartana copper sulphate pentahydrate plant which will increase production capacity and plant liability, and take us through the drilling programme at the Nightflower Silver project where the company is focused on the Digger Lode of 2.75 Mt @ 364g/t Ag Eq for 32 Moz Ag Eq to 5.36 Mt @ 270 g/t Ag Eq for 47 Moz Ag Eq, based on rock chip sampling, previous drilling and a previous JORC 2004 resource estimate for the Digger Lode.
