For six decades, the University of Newcastle has been delivering transformative research and education for our city and region and partnering with industry to drive economic impact and social prosperity. As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we're excited to invite you to our Industry Open Day.

Industry Open Day features a mix of professional development opportunities, facility tours, and networking activities. We invite you to attend the whole event, or simply register for sessions that interest you.

Attendees can choose one of three sessions: a Cultural Capability Taster focused on building a cultural responsive environment, a session on supervising placement students to enhance your supervision knowledge, skills and confidence, or a session on building your brand and talent pipeline through collaboration with higher education. Alternatively, participants may tour the Modern Manufacturing Workshop and Advanced Prototyping Facility, which support innovation in recycling, clean energy, and advanced technologies.

The Research, Teaching & Innovation Expo showcases cutting-edge university initiatives and provides a chance to connect with researchers and educators.

A keynote presentation by Adam and Belinda MacDougall shares their journey from university alumni to successful entrepreneurs in the health industry.

This is followed by a panel discussion on the future of industry-university collaboration and its role in regional development. The panel will be moderated by Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Belinda Tynan and includes CEO of Dantia Tim Browne, Chief Executive of Hunter New England Local Health District Tracey McCosker PSM, Professor Karen Blackmore, founder of ByStorm Beauty Storm Menzies and student Joseph Hill.

The event concludes with a networking reception, offering refreshments and continued exploration of the expo.
