Mine Seismology Workshop

This workshop is aimed to promote presentation and discussion of recent developments on the topics of mine seismology: mechanisms of seismic events and mechanics of rock-burst damage, processing of seismic monitoring data, rock mass characterization using active and passive seismic data, assessment of seismic and rock-burst hazards.

The workshop also includes a course designed for experienced seismologists and non-seismologist. The objectives of the course include:

• to explain the elementary principles of seismology and seismic monitoring in mines to non-seismologists
• to promote presentation and discussion of recent developments on the topics of mine seismology
• training on the IMS software explaining and illustrating the processing and interpretation of seismic monitoring data through a combination of theoretical presentations and practical exercises explaining.
