Voice for Mining Family Day 2026
Voice for Mining Family Day brings together miners, their families, and Newcastle Knights fans to celebrate the important role played by both the mining industry and the Knights in the community.
In 2025, almost 25,000 people packed into Newcastle’s McDonald Jones Stadium for another incredible double-header. The Newcastle Knights men’s team put in a courageous effort but fell to the Warriors after the siren, while the women’s squad celebrated their first win in the hi-vis mining colours.
Voice for Mining Family Day has become a staple for the region since it began in 2013. When the Newcastle Knights wear the mining jersey, they’re representing the NSW mining community, as well as current and former players connected to mining.
