Engineers Australia

The Year in Review presentation will be held in person and will incorporate:

  • Address by 2022 Division President – Pierre Gouhier
  • Announcement of Election of Officers & Committee for 2023
  • Presentation of the JMC Corlette Medal
  • Recognition of the Peter Nicol Russell Award

Guest speakers for the night will include Professor Frini Karayandis and Dr Michelle Kelly from the University of Newcastle School of Psychology and will discuss our topic 'Older and wiser - the key to keeping the brain healthy as we age'.

The number of older people, including those with dementia, is rising and is expected to continue to rise for the foreseeable future. For most, the goal is to keep brain health and physical health as good as possible for as long as possible, and for most, live independently and without disability. Professor Karayanidis and Dr Kelly from the University of Newcastle will discuss some of the research into ageing well and speak on their work on creativity and its role in brain health as we get older.

Networking will commence from 5.30pm with the event commencing from 6:00pm (AEDT). All are welcome to attend, so please invite friends and family to celebrate the year that was and hear about EA’s direction for the incoming year.
