Re-Alliance's new report 'How Australia’s shift to renewable energy can deliver beneficial outcomes for regional housing' highlights examples from NSW, Victoria and Queensland where local councils, communities and renewable energy companies are working together to turn temporary workforce accommodation into long-term housing assets.

Join them for a briefing on this work, where they'll discuss the case studies in more depth, the barriers to implementing better housing outcomes through renewable energy development, and what support is needed for local communities and renewable energy companies to overcome these barriers.

You'll hear from:

  • Bart Sykes, Regional Economic Development Manager at Squadron Energy. Bart will speak to how they've refurbished unused Bellhaven Aged Care in Wellington NSW to house nearby renewable energy workers.
  • Jess Adler, Corporate & Business Services Manager at Wimmera Southern Mallee Development. Jess will speak to the community-led housing model they've created, which helps address housing shortages in small towns.
  • Vincent Dwyer, Co-Founder and CEO at Energy Estate. Vincent will speak to the new workforce accommodation opportunities in Queensland and New Zealand that can be adapted for local permanent housing.
