Solving for Finance: Insights from the Green Fuels Accelerator

This webinar tackles the issue of finding development and construction capital for low carbon liquid fuel projects (LCLF).

August bioenergy solving for finance

The Green Fuels Accelerator, delivered by Cyan Ventures, funded by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and supported by Qantas, Boeing and other commercial partners, is working with seven Australian low carbon liquid fuel projects to support their commercialisation, including technical support, regulatory guidance, financing / offtake strategy and general strategy assistance. Together, Cyan Ventures and Bioenergy Australia will run a number of webinars to share insights from the work. This second webinar tackles the issue of finding development and construction capital for low carbon liquid fuel projects (LCLF).

Australia has a promising pipeline of low‑carbon liquid fuels (LCLF) projects. The Clean Deal Monitor (produced by Mission Possible Partnership and Cyan Ventures) has identified LCLF in Australia (in varying stages of development) which have associated investment of over A$19 billion. Despite this promising pipeline, no projects have yet reached financial close. The same pattern is visible globally: of more than 700 commercial‑scale clean industry projects in the global pipeline, only around 60 have secured investment and started construction, with the rate of financial closes running at fewer than 15 per year.

This webinar will share research from the Green Fuels Accelerator on best practices for gaining access to finance through development and construction and hear directly from investors and experts.
