Australian Energy Storage Alliance

Energy storage is an essential element driving change towards a cleaner energy future. It is key to areas such as on-grid and off-grid energy management, micro grids for remote and mining communities, as well as electric vehicles and advanced systems for managing the energy of buildings.

The Australian Energy Storage Alliance (AES Alliance) is an information sharing and networking platform to promote the wide range of existing and emerging energy storage solutions that are available in Australia.

With support from NSW Government, AES Alliance recently launched a publicly accessible Australian Energy Storage Database (AESDB), a portal to the Global Energy Storage Database developed by the United States Department of Energy, Office of Electricity Delivery & Energy Reliability and Sandia National Laboratories.

Funded through the NSW Energy & Resources Knowledge Hub, the Australian portal extends the reach of the Global Energy Storage Database by providing access to 1,400 energy storage projects across 60 countries. AESD is a resource for investors, developers, planners, policy makers, and researchers, providing a comprehensive listing of commercial and utility scale energy storage projects and their key uses to address challenges on the grid.
